Let the Melodies Collide [Ch2]Monday morning when I walk into school, I can practically feel self-consciousness seeping off of my body. I know for a fact I can feel Abby's rolling off of her in waves. We went through with our plan to choose clothes for each other, and it makes at least me feel totally uncomfortable. I have to tug a short black skirt down every few steps, and wearing fishnets in this weather is plain mental. She also picked a tight black belly shirt (no one obeys those clothing rules nowadays, right?), thick blue and black checkered belt that hangs low off of one hip, and a big dark bow for my hair. Let the Melodies Collide [Ch1] (updated)I scrunch my eyes and wrinkle my nose, trying to block out the burning brightness that invaded my senses as soon as my eyes opened. But to no avail - the insides of my eyelids are stained orange when closed, and when I open my eyes yet again, I'm bombarded with the yellow glow that settles over everything the light can touch. Despite this, I laugh as my best friend, Abby, hisses at the sun and grabs my hand, pulling me into the shade of our huge oak tree. We scratched our names into it in the sixth grade with Abby's pocketknife and according to her, that means we own it.
